Question:

Answer:

The minimum required speed is 2 Mbps. You should opt for that internet connection that provides you with minimum guaranteed speed. Do not pay too much attention on the maximum speed claimed. It is the stability of speed which is important in virtual classroom. You may test your internet connection here and here at different times to check its stability. An internet connection with high speed fluctuation is not likely to work with reliability like for example wireless connection with fluctuating signal may not be reliable. Wired connection is recommended.

PS: Some of the virtual classrooms work at lower speeds also but 2 Mbps is fine for almost all virtual classrooms that we use and hence 2 Mbps kbps is the requirement that we officially state.

Answer:

The following are the advantages of our online test series:

  • Online tests are conducted from the Vitual Learning Environment (VLE) using world class technology used for online testing. This is a proven technology used and tested for years.
  • The tests include innovative exam pattern.
  • Any changes in examination pattern can be incorporated rapidly in online tests. Also, since online tests are used globally different testing systems can be included in online tests giving greater exposure to student reducing surprise factor in the actual exam.
  • It costs significant amount of time to go to a test centre to give the test. The online tests can be given at home.
  • Students all over world write JEE. Only online test series can cater to the students abroad and hence is the only global test series available.
  • Evaluation is done automatically and instantly.
  • All the previous tests are stored in the server. Hence a student joining late does not miss any test.
  • A student does not have to be online throughout the test. In fact one has to be online just for a few minutes to take a test.
  • The course fee is less in comparison to the quality offered.
  • Online tests are particularly important when the admission is based on written exam only. Since written exam tests the performance of an individual on one to one basis it makes no difference if a student takes mock test in a hall or at home. It is in contrast with test like group discussion in CAT etc. where performance in group is also tested.
Question:
(Last edited: Sunday, 16 December 2018, 07:43 PM)
Answer:

Commonly used versions of Windows/Mac are supported. Android Tablets/Smartphones and iPad may also be supported. Headset with mic is required. Webcam is required but its usage is optional. Stable broadband is recommended. Adequate measures are required like UPS with sufficient backup to ensure uninterrupted power during the class unless power supply is 24x7 all days. A backup internet connection is also required if internet quality is not top notch. The required setup barring exceptional cases is as follows:

  1. Computer+headset with mic,
  2. 2 Hr. power backup to computer+modem/router,
  3. A wired internet connection as primary internet connection + A secondary internet connection from different provider (wired or wireless). Wired connection means wired upto the premises. Inside the premises wifi is fine. If wired connection is not available at the place of residence, then two wireless connections from two different providers should be used.
